We built what
didn't exist
Three engineers at a German credit bureau needed to match hundreds of millions of records in real-time. No tool on the market was fast enough. So they built their own.
From credit bureau to entity resolution infrastructure
Stefan Berkner, Hendrik Nehnes, and Steven Renwick were the technology team at Regis24, a German consumer credit bureau. Their challenge: handle hundreds of millions of datasets about tens of millions of people in a way that was both scalable and fast.
No technology on the market offered the high-performance they demanded. Traditional databases couldn't fuzzy-match at scale. Graph databases were too slow. Batch-processing systems introduced unacceptable delays.
So Stefan went back to the drawing board and designed a new approach to entity resolution using serverless technology — one that could scale infinitely without managing infrastructure.
The technology worked so well that the three founders proposed to spin it out into its own company. In 2021, Tilores was born.
"Enterprises are collecting more and more data, but unless they can properly organize and connect that data, they cannot use it properly."
